Look - Lotuskull

I found the shirt at Unique Thrift Store in Uptown, Chicago. It reminded me of the art found in Inu-Yasha manga by Rumiko Takahashi.

I paired it pink pants from Target to pull out the pink of the lotuses and wore green wedges to tie-up the whole look.

Look - Bone Jacked

Good evening! This is a vintage look. The dress is from the 1970's and so is the term 'Bone Jacked," which means taking on the style of someone who has passed on.

I paired this look with clip-on yellow and green flowers, iridescent stud earrings,
green beaded necklace, and yellow nail polish.

My cat named Kittyman also makes an appearance in this look. He's my big boy. He is a beautiful, old deaf kitty.

Look - Embroider Encore

Another of my favorite embroidered looks. It's an encore and with the same flower decorations I wore in the Bordar Mi Vida look. I am all about re-cycling elements of my looks that I adore.

Look - Blue Bees

Here is my ode to a fashionable bee keeper. I used shaping, color blocking, grandiose pieces to create this look. To me, you always stand out when you play with these elements!

I took a knee length American Apparel skirt and used a petticoat to add unrealistic, drastic hips. I bunched up the two corners of the petticoat and pinned them to the sides.

The bee pins and black ring are vintage bakelite found by my mother in the 1980s at an antique store.

Look - Chlorophyta Circles

Yikes, I can't sleep, so I'll do the next best thing and blog!

I named this look Chlorophyta Circles because Chlorophyta is the latin term for green algae, which often blooms in our pond. The polka dot shirt is actually a retro dress that I tucked in so I could pair it with my skirt. ;)

These pictures make it appear that Chicago is all warm and summery, but it's actually quite chilly (STILL, ew!!) even though it's green all around.

Look - Mira Flores

This is an old Free People's dress that I love and rewear! It's a light, silk dress and perfect for summer. I paired it with my Jeffrey Campbells I purchased on sale at Karmaloop! As a recent graduate, I am all about the discount!

Look - Lima Love

After 4 + years of a long distance relationship, Eduardo and I decided to get married in Lima, Peru (In his district Chorrillos). We had a civil ceremony and a lovely celebration with his family at home. Beautiful and simple.

All of you dealing with a long distance relationship know my struggle and its worth! Anyone applying for I-130? I can give advice, but also would love to hear some of your insights!

I can't wait to be with him Stateside!  Applying for his Visa tomorrow!

Look - Reach for the Gold

This outfit symbolizes a few things. It symbolizes my push to be more accepting of my body and my ongoing workout efforts. I am reaching for the gold this summer. I want to get in better shape and to embrace my imperfections.

SSC Fashion Update: Iridescent Shoes & Purse

My inner 90's child is happy to have these two new iridescent pieces in my closet. I purchased the shoes for $50 and the purse, on sale, from $25 to $10. I am glad this trend is back, but regardless, I will always love this style. Plus the hidden-wedge in the shoes are a nice height cheat for short people like myself.

Look - Chartreusely Blue

One of my ultimate favorite color blocking schemes: chartreuse and blue. This look was conceived with time, but it is one I love to wear on many occasions.

I am not afraid of repeating outfits, especially when I really enjoy it. My motto is wear what you love and own it, no shame.
